This itinerary covers everything from Kenya’s world-famous Masai Mara to Tanzania’s legendary Serengeti National Park and Kenya’s breathtaking Lake Nakuru. The Masai Mara, Kenya’s premier wildlife reserve, is where the adventure begins. Game drives through the vast savannahs will reveal lions, elephants, cheetahs, and many bird species. The Masai Mara offers endless chances to see and photograph fascinating wildlife in their natural habitat.

Lake Nakuru National Park, home to flamingos and other exotic wildlife, is next on your itinerary. Discover the park’s beautiful scenery, including its glistening lake and acacia forests. The park is home to some endangered species, including white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, zebras, and antelopes of varying sizes. Nature lovers and birdwatchers will appreciate the peaceful atmosphere of Lake Nakuru.

Crossing into Tanzania, the Serengeti National Park awaits. Millions of wildebeests and zebras migrate across the savannahs for fresh grazing. In the Serengeti, see lions, leopards, elephants, and many other animals on thrilling game drives.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home of the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater, is the final stop on the trip. Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • Day : 1 Nairobi – Masai Mara

    Pick up from the airport upon arrival at 0630hrs and depart for the Masai Mara Game Reserve after a short coffee break. There was a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley Viewpoint and later Narok town for refueling and a bathroom break, arriving at the Zebra Plains Mara Camp in time for lunch.

    Catch a short afternoon nap before your inaugural game drive inside Masai Mara National Reserve from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., returning to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

  • Day : 2 Masai Mara Game Reserve

    Wake up to an early breakfast, then proceed on a full day of game viewing within the reserve. The landscape here is scenic savannah grassland against a backdrop of hills and valleys. The reserve is the best park for fun in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network, which allows for close-range viewing and photography. Break for your picnic lunch at the hippo pool, looking out for hippos and crocodiles.

    Return to Zebra Plains Mara Camp for dinner and overnight stay. (Optional Activity: Sundowner)

  • Day : 3 Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru National Park

    After a leisurely breakfast, depart the Masai Mara for Lake Nakuru. En route, you’ll enjoy sweeping vistas of Mt. Longonot and Lake Naivasha from the road. Arrive @ Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge in time for check-in and early buffet lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, considered a haven for endangered animal species such as the White Rhino and the Cape Buffalo.

  • Day : 4 Lake Nakuru – Nairobi

    After breakfast, check out and proceed on a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru Park, famed for its abundant birdlife like the pink flamingoes. You may glimpse the tree-climbing lions basking up the trees on a good day after a successful morning hunt. Drive to Nairobi with lunch en route, arriving at 1630hrs.

  • Day : 5 Nairobi (Kenya)-Arusha (Tanzania)

    After breakfast, a representative from Riverside Shuttle will pick you up from your hotel and drop you off at the shuttle, which departs Nairobi at 8:00 a.m., arriving in Arusha, Tanzania, just around lunch hour.

    Arusha is a beautiful city at the foot of the volcanic Mt Meru. It is a gateway to the country’s most notable attractions, such as Mt Kilimanjaro, Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and the world-famous Serengeti.

    Take the afternoon off to enjoy the sights and sounds of Arusha on foot, or we can arrange for a coffee farm tour on a nearby farm.

  • Day : 6 Nairobi (Kenya)-Arusha (Tanzania)

    After breakfast, a representative from Riverside Shuttle will pick you up from your hotel and drop you off at the shuttle, which departs Nairobi at 8:00 a.m., arriving in Arusha, Tanzania, just around lunch hour.

  • Day : 6 Ngorongoro Crater– Arusha

    We wake up to an early morning breakfast, after which we descend 2000 feet onto the floor of the “crater,” which is, in fact, one of the world’s most intact caldera. As you approach from the only inroad, viewing the wildlife activity below creates a tingling sensation and evokes a strong appreciation of nature. Enjoy your picnic lunch at the crater’s designated picnic sites at lunchtime. Later, exit the Crater and drive towards Arusha, passing through the fertile highland areas of Karatu, with a cultural visit at Mto Wa Mbu, just outside the seasonal Lake Manyara National Park entrance.

  • Day : 7 Arusha – Namanga Border – Nairobi

    After breakfast, your driver guide will wait to take you on a wild game ride into Ngorongoro Crater. Take your camera out as the drive takes you through breathtaking countryside. At some point along the way, you can see the Serengeti Plains on the horizon on the left and the occasional herds of Masai cattle (a pastoralist community indigenous to these lands). As you descend into the Ngorongoro Crater floor, you will be welcomed to one of the best spectacles on earth, a caldera bursting with flora and fauna.

    Game drives the entire day, with picnic lunch at a designated picnic site. In the afternoon, we’ll transfer you back to Arusha for an overnight at Africa Safari Arusha.

  • Day : 8 Arusha – Nairobi

    Wake up to early breakfast at Africa Safari Arusha. Staff from Riverside Shuttle will pick you up at 7:15 a.m. and transfer you to the luxury shuttle bus, which departs Arusha at 7:50 a.m. and arrives in Nairobi* at 1:30 p.m.
